Founded in 23 July 1996

The Grupo Brasileiro de Liquenólogos (GBL, or Brazilian Group of Lichenologists) was founded in the 23rd of July of 1996 with the objective of reducing the difficulties posed to each one of us by creating a group to develop lichenology in Brazil. Back in 1996, our modest group realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to create the GBL. Since then we have been growing in numbers, productivity and collaborations.
